160年前的苏州话会是什么样子的，因为当时没有录音设备，所以没法完全还原。但是依据《广韵》、《乡音字类》等韵书和周边吴语的实例，我们在此做一个大概的拟音，仅供大家消遣。
因为《乡音》记录的是当时的读书音，是用来读四书五经的读书音，所以在这里我们选用《假道伐虢》来作为拟音的文字。
又根据记录说，天平天国前苏州城内见组未腭化，所以我们所做的拟音也是未腭化的。
